San Bruno, San Francisco Alternative – Vegetarian Friendly City

July 31, 2008 · Shokoofeh Nowbakht · 1 Comment

San Bruno – I call it San Francisco alternative for several reasons. Besides very affordable housing, it is a incredibly vegetarian friendly city. Down Town San Bruno or more specifically “The Avenue” has several restaurants which serve varieties of vegetarian as well as vegan foods. Whether you’re craving Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, Indian, Mediterranean or Italian, you will find a place to grab a fabulous meal to enjoy.

Just Kidding!!! But, seriously, it is almost true.

875 Mills Ave. (2 br,1 bath) is listed for $398,900,

648 3rd Ave. (3 br, 2 bath) is listed for $499,000.

2 bedroom houses sold for about $600,000 and 3 bedrooms for about $700,000 two years ago in this area of San Bruno. Now, do you agree with me? Ok, let’s go shopping! Buy real estate before the SALE is over.

Home Sellers Everywhere…

July 31, 2008 · Nicole Machado · Comment here

Home sellers everywhere contemplate whether now is the time to “move up” the real estate ladder and upgrade. Some think they can’t afford to move up because they have lost equity in their current home since the market has taken a turn. When in fact they haven’t lost anything in all actuality. If it wasn’t time for you to sell your home when you had that supposed “equity” well then you never had it at all. If you wait to “move up” the cost of your new home will cost more. You want to upgrade when prices are down so your new mortgage is more affordable and while interest rates are still at hystorical lows. Sellers put your buyers hat on… think like a buyer and not like a seller, in the end you’ll be happy you did!

“Can I really buy a house at the mall?”

July 29, 2008 · Jean Joh · 2 Comments

This question was posed to me as I sat at our Prudential kiosk in the Serramonte Mall.  I was caught a little off guard.  “Well, sort of…” was my awkward response.  The amiable woman followed up with another question, “So, can I just buy a house here like a pair of shoes and then return it if it doesn’t fit?”  We had a nice laugh together over that one.

How does the San Mateo County MCC program help first time home buyers save money?

July 28, 2008 · Dean Rizzi · 3 Comments

First of all, what is MCC anyway? MCC stands for Mortgage Credit Certificate. The MCC is a federal tax credit for eligible first-time homebuyers. It helps first time buyers by giving them an additional tax benefit in addition to the normal tax benefit from owning a home to begin with.

Here is how it works. Read more

If you haven’t been to San Bruno’s August concerts in San Bruno Park, then you don’t know what you’re missing! This is a great opportunity to meet San Bruno people, see friend’s from school or the neighborhood, and relax.

Children are invited. Families and friends bring dinner or snacks. We lay out big blankets to sit on and enjoy the night away. The weather is always pleasant until the sun goes down so it’s best to bring along some sweatshirts!
