Do you feel like you are in a media induced recession?

If it were not for all of the news I watch on TV or the newspapers and internet news, I wouldn’t think I was in a recession! I don’t live in a bubble, in fact, I live in the Bay Are and I am a Realtor. My phone rings everday with people who want to buy real estate at the new opportune prices and I receive emails each day as well. The malls, Serramonte and The Shops at Tanforan, where we have our real estate kiosks see 1,000s of holiday shoppers all day long and meet PLENTY of people interested in buying buying buying and gas prices have gone down to boot!

I am only one person making my own observation. I have had some hardships as well and DO realize that the economy has slipped but my point is, if we did not have the media would we be so overwhelmed with a recession? My husband is a stay at home dad and our family and friends in San Bruno and the Bay Area are doing ok and I AM GRATEFUL FOR THAT! I just wonder how other people in the Bay Area are doing? Please comment!

I wrote something like this before but it’s been awhile! I am partial to San Bruno because I live here and my office is here as well, Prudential California Realty, San Bruno. My kids go to school within walking distance from our house, my office is only 8 blocks away, the corner store is 4 blocks away, and if we need to go San Francisco, it’s only 10 minutes away! So that would be the number one reason to buy a house in San Bruno because a home near San Francisco is desirable because a lot of people work there and don’t want a long commute, so…. Read more

More than just a picnic in San Bruno! It’s a family affair!

Boing! Boing! Boing! On Sept. 27, 2008 our office at Prudential California Realty- San Bruno had its annual company picnic, bounce house and all! Our agents brought their favorite dishes, pot luck style while the office supplied the hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks. It was a HOT day in San Bruno border-lining 90 degrees! Our favorite title companies supplied the kids with a jumping castle with a slide, piñata, and other goodies! There was a committee that put this all together and they did the greatest job, planning, shopping and preparing!

Our office family, together with our real families, were playing and eating together! It was a great atmosphere! The day was an absolute blast!

Can you shake it up anymore in the East Bay right now? What I mean is, I have been showing property to different sets of clients in Pittsburg, Antioch and Hayward and all the homes have 10-20 offers on them! What the heck is going on?? I thought this was a buyer’s market!

1. You don’t feel like taking advantage of GREAT opportunities while prices have stabilized.

2. You enjoy renting over owning your own home.

3. You believe in buying HIGH and selling LOW rather than what experts suggest which is buy low and sell high. Duh!

4. Your accountant told you that you have enough tax write offs.

Can you really buy a house at the San Mateo County Fair?

The San Mateo County Fair runs from Aug. 8th- Aug. 17. Our office has a booth and we have been really busy answering questions about home prices, loans, REO’s, short sales and all kinds of stuff! Its a casual environment not like the tidy, quiet and clean office we’re accustomed to. Its fun to chat with people at the fair because the atmosphere is not so “closed in”. We have a binder of homes for sale that fair goers can flip through and get a good idea of what homes are selling for in their favorite neighborhoods. Come join us at the fair!
