The City of South San Francisco made a Boo-Boo
Incase any readers happened to get caught running a red light in South San Francisco prior to January 27th, you may want to read the following news story…
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA (KGO) — Red light runners who were caught on camera in South San Francisco will get a legal break over a big, big mistake, and it is going to cost the city a lot of trouble and money.
“It’s a big mess,” South San Francisco Police Chief Mike Massoni said, referring to the red light cameras on two of the city’s busiest intersections — El Camino and Westborough, and El Camino and Hickey.
Since they were put in Aug. 15, the cameras have nabbed thousands of red light runners. The cameras were installed by the American Traffic Solutions (ATS) and they are working without a hitch, except for one thing.
“We didn’t go to a public meeting and have council formally ratify the contract between us and our vendor,” Massoni said.
So just what does that mean? Read more
San Mateo County Real Estate Wrap up 2009
Below is a chart that compares the San Mateo County Real Estate Market in 2009 to the San Mateo County Real Estate Market in 2008. As you will see the results are comofrting and shed some positive light on what is to come in 2010. Although interest rates are scheduled to rise as early as this Spring and foreclosures loom in the back ground, as long as inventory stays slow and steady the market should remain on a positive steady but upward incline. Now is a great time to take advantage of the low interest rates and tax credits that are currently provided. Please click on the thumbnail below for a full picture.

San Mateo County Storm Watch
I received this information from a friend and thought I would share. Although it pertains to information in regards to South San Francisco, there are some great tips on how to be prepared in case of emergency.
This is a hazardous winter weather alert. Beginning Sunday and continuing through the rest of the week…a series of strong storms are expected to roll across the San Francisco and Monterey Bay Regions. The first storm is forecast to bring substantial rain across the Bay Area Sunday into Monday. Additional storms are then expected for much of next week. During the next seven days 10 to 20 inches of rain are expected to fall in the coastal mountains and 8 to 15 inches in the inland valleys and foothills. Due to many days of rainfall local flooding could occur. In addition, the storms beginning Tuesday or Wednesday are likely to also produce strong gale force winds that could cause property damage and power outages. Depending upon the intensity and duration of the rainfall coupled with a high tide localized flooding could occur in the low lying areas of SSF (San Mateo Ave. Airport, etc.).
This is the strongest storm of its type that has hit SSF for several years IF the forecasters are correct in their assessments! Read more

What do you do when you have close personal friends who are in the market to buy, but can’t hire you as their agent out of obligation to a family member? I recently had a situation occur where my friends decided it was time to jump off the rental train and become home owners. I thought it was a great idea and a wonderful way to secure their financial future. The wife would call me and ask me questions and of course I would answer any and all that came my way. I even set them up with a loan agent to get them pre-approved and started sending them automated email alerts for new active properties. Read more
Is history repeating itself?
In recent months the entry level Real Estate market has shifted and become for some people, a competitive sport. If priced correctly homes aren’t lasting past the first week’s open house as buyers are frantically racing to submit offers. Supply is low and demand is high and we all know with that combination multiple offers arise. What’s good for the goose isn’t necassarily good for the gander.. is history repeating itself? Is what is occuring now exactly what we saw a few years ago when home prices soared and multiple offers were just expected? There are many factors that come into play, some may argue this market is nothing like the one we saw a few years ago. We can say for sure banks have tightened up their guidelines to put it gently. Unless you can prove you qualify, you don’t get approved. Interest rates are lower and home prices have dropped so buyers in today’s market essentially have more buying power. Appraisals have been tightened and often times more then one is necessary to get approved by the lender. With that said, is it really all that different? Are consumers so eager to purchase a home for fear they will “miss the boat” that they are over extending themselves to make it happen. Hopefully with the tightened lender guidelines, history won’t repeat itself. What are your thoughts as I would love to hear them…

Prudential San Bruno’s 3rd Annual Shredding Party
Prudential California Realty San Bruno office is hosting its 3rd annual shredding event. This event is a complimentary event we host for the community. Each year has been a huge success and continues to grow every year. Last year the shredding truck was filled to the brim. The driver had to drive the truck around the block to try and level the paper out in hopes of getting everyone’s documents shredded. By the end of the event both sides of the truck were protuding out, but we did manage to get everyone’s documents safely shredded. Last year we shredded an excess of 12,ooo lbs of paper.
Cars start piling in early as Prudential agents assist them at their cars to off load their documents. Some people drive in with a truck load of boxes and Read more
