San Bruno Music in the Park 2010
It’s almost that time again! We San Brunans love the summer music series at San Bruno Park! It’s held every Friday in August. It begins at 6:00 and ends around 8ish!
Every year my kids sell bags of my homemade, gourmet popcorn. It’s freshly popped in a pot, salted, buttered and parmasian “cheesed”! The kids walk around with a metal bucket full of bags, come back to refill, and they run out every time! Usually, kids of all ages play “sand lot” style baseball at the diamond behind the crowds of adults listening to their old 60′s, 70′s and 80′s favorites!
The concerts are FREE and a really great way to meet people or enjoy a group of old friends! Many of us bring bread, cheese, and other snacks. Some have pizza and some bbq at the picnic tables beforehand and then walk over to the concert! Here’s the schedule for this August 2010:
Aug. 8: Double Funk Crunch(Disco and 80′s)
Aug. 13: City Rocks (60′s-80′s SF Rock)
Aug. 20: The Refugees (Tom Petty Tribute Band)
Aug. 27: Just For Kicks (Classic Rock & Roll and R & B)
I love forward to seeing you there! Enjoy the rest of your summer!
San Bruno is a Great Place To Live!
San Bruno, Ca is an affordable and charming city on the San Mateo peninsula. Snuggled on a long. wide slope between San Francisco and Burlingame, the weather is usually in the 60′s with a little wind and hardly ever any fog!
We have the best public schools around, as well! As the PTA President of Allen Elementary School, I can give first hand testimonials, as I meet with the other PTA presidents monthly. We are a close knit bunch with all the same goals in mind, to keep our San Bruno children in the best learning environment possible! San Bruno parents really care about their city! San Bruno Concerts in the Park 2009
Oh boy! I am so excited! San Bruno Park puts on concerts every Friday in August starting at 6:00 pm
For the last two summers I made homemade gourmet popcorn and put them in sandwhich bags for my kids to sell for .50 cents each. They were so darn cute! My 4 year old daughter carried her metal pail full of popcorn and my 8 year old son collected the money! I have pictures somewhere that I need to find and post!
Anyways, this year’s 2009 schedule looks like this:
Aug 7th- Livewire (Dance Party Band)
Aug 14- Unauthorized Rolling Stones (Tribute Band)
Aug 21- Cocktail Monkeys (Classic Rock, Pop, Variety)
Aug 28 Dave Crimmen (50′s Rock n Roll)
Be sure to come and if you see me or my kids selling popcorn, tell us you read our blog! Thanks!

San Bruno Farmer’s Market is a GREAT success!

If you haven’t heard, the San Bruno Farmer’s Market started on Sunday, June 21st and is continuing every Sunday through October from 10-2pm! Downtown Sundays will have live music, fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers, specialty breads and international food.
If you haven’t checked it out, I highly recommend swinging by! I was there on the first day and enjoyed picking out a variety of strawberries, blackberries and blueberries. I also bought some carrots, all kinds of summer squashes, and peaches! They were all delicious!
There was also a kettle corn booth, a booth for coloring and laminating commemorative pins, and a featured business. This event is put on by the San Bruno Chamber of Commerce so a featured business is an appropriate and great way for a business to promote themselves! (That means you’ll see me there one day, for sure!)
If you don’t have plans on a Sunday this summer, try to make it to the San Bruno Farmer’s Market! It’s a great local event you won’t want to miss!
Can I really buy a house in Daly City for under $400,000?
Not only can you buy a house in Daly City for under $400,000 right now but in South San Francisco, Pacifica, and San Bruno as well. Most of these lower priced bargains are short sales and bank owned property. They are not always in the best shape or have a lot of bedrooms but they are opportunities that some people have been waitng for! Although there is competion again to buy in this price range, more and more homes become available every week. It’s sad on one hand but a hopeful first time buyer’s dream! Read more
Do you feel like you are in a media induced recession?
If it were not for all of the news I watch on TV or the newspapers and internet news, I wouldn’t think I was in a recession! I don’t live in a bubble, in fact, I live in the Bay Are and I am a Realtor. My phone rings everday with people who want to buy real estate at the new opportune prices and I receive emails each day as well. The malls, Serramonte and The Shops at Tanforan, where we have our real estate kiosks see 1,000s of holiday shoppers all day long and meet PLENTY of people interested in buying buying buying and gas prices have gone down to boot!
I am only one person making my own observation. I have had some hardships as well and DO realize that the economy has slipped but my point is, if we did not have the media would we be so overwhelmed with a recession? My husband is a stay at home dad and our family and friends in San Bruno and the Bay Area are doing ok and I AM GRATEFUL FOR THAT! I just wonder how other people in the Bay Area are doing? Please comment!
10 Reasons to buy a home in San Bruno
I wrote something like this before but it’s been awhile! I am partial to San Bruno because I live here and my office is here as well, Prudential California Realty, San Bruno. My kids go to school within walking distance from our house, my office is only 8 blocks away, the corner store is 4 blocks away, and if we need to go San Francisco, it’s only 10 minutes away! So that would be the number one reason to buy a house in San Bruno because a home near San Francisco is desirable because a lot of people work there and don’t want a long commute, so….
